Milan fashion week, New York fashion week, London fashion week, Lakme fashion week, and more; every person loves to talk about fashion, from middle class to rich people to celebrities. But on top of it, even international celebrities love wearing designer clothes made by Indian designers. Indian designers are stealing thunder from international designers, nowadays. Let’s talk about some of the most famous and successful designers who placed themselves in the global fashion industry.

1. Sabyasachi Mukherjee

2. Manish Malhotra

Manish Malhotra is one of the well-known designers in the Indian fashion industry. He started his career as a model while studying at Elphinstone College in Mumbai. He has been in this industry for the last 27 years. He changes the face of this Indian Fashion Industry. He worked as a fashion designer in the Bollywood industry through Juhi Chawla starer Swarg. He was the first person to win the Filmfare costume award for his designs in Rangeela. Manish Malhotra is a person who had never learn fashion designing and achieve such great heights by his passion and hard work.

3. Ritu Kumar

Ritu Kumar is one of the oldest and most respected fashion designers in India. Ritu Kumar became one of the most famous fashion brands in India. She spread the business of block printing all across the world. She stepped into this industry for the last four decades and developed a unique style of her own. Her designs have also been worn by the late Princess of Wales, Diana, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Lara Dutta, Deepika Padukone, Madhuri Dixit Nene.

4. Tarun Tahiliani

Tarun Tahiliani is one of the famous designers who made many contributions to Indian fashion over his career. He establishes Ensemble in 1987, a multi-designer boutique, and found his studio in 1990. He was the first Indian fashion designer, who showcased his work at Milan Fashion Week. His style mixes the elements of Italian cutting and Indian craftsmanship with modern technologies of digital textile printing. His designs are sold in Tokyo, London, Hong Kong, Dubai, New York, etc.

5. Neeta Lulla

Neeta Lulla is a famous costume designer and a fashion stylist. She started her career in 1985. She has design costumes for more than 300 films in seven different languages. She gained her popularity after designing the costumes for Aishwarya Rai and Madhuri
Dixit in the Devdas in 2002 She is known for her fashion style ‘traditional yet stylish’. Many Bollywood heroines wore her designs in their wedding ceremonies like Aishwarya Rai, Shilpa Shetty, Juhi Chawla, Esha Deol, Sridevi, Isha Koppikar. She is the only designer to utilize the Paithani style in her designs in 2016. She opened a school with Subhash Ghai in Mumbai, which offers courses in fashion designing, online marketing, and other subjects.

6. Anita Dongre

Anita Dongre has been in this fashion industry for over 20 years. She founded the House of Anita Dongre in 1995 and also had several sub- brands named as AND- Western wear for women, Global Desi- Boho chic brand for women, Anita Dongre- Bridal Couture, Grassroot- Luxury Pret, Pinkcity- Handcrafted gold jadau jewellery, & menswear. She got the honor to design a dress for the Duchess of Cambridge. She was called a Reigning queen in the fashion industry. Her designs include the style of Indian handlooms and eco-friendly textiles to portray Indian culture. She is an active member of PETA and was awarded Entrepreneur of the year in 2014.

7. Masaba Gupta

Masaba Gupta, daughter of two celebrities Neena Gupta and Sir Viv Richards. She is one of the youngest and quirkiest fashion designers in India, who achieve this height with her talent. Her design reflects Indian and South African culture. After graduating in 2009, she launched her label ‘House of Masaba’. She won several awards like the 2012 L’Oreal Paris Femina Award for Best Emerging Designer and PETA India’s Most Talented Designer 2013
